First of all I’m not going to pretend I’m one of these girls you see on Instagram that are insanely good at make up, so don’t expect anything special haha. I like the more natural look and over the years I’ve worked out how to apply makeup to suit my face and eye shape rather than copying off other people’s and looking nothing like they do then feeling shit because of it.
So I use the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation in the lightest shade (this blog is called my PALE trend for a reason) which is 0.5. I apply this with my fingers, some of you might think this is insane and wondering why I don’t use a brush or a beauty blender. Well, I just can’t cope with the finish brushes leave on the skin for me they’ve just never worked and the beauty blender is reeeeally good but just a massive faff. So I apply it with my (CLEAN!) fingers the same way I apply moisturiser – sort of massage it all over the skin then once I have an even layer, I press it into the skin using my fingertips in a ‘press and roll’ motion. This gives you a really flawless natural finish.
For my concealer I use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and I apply this under my eyes concentrating on the inner corners and on any redness I have such as around the nose, also blending this in with my fingertips. I set all that with the good old Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent.
At this point I usually move onto my eyes and come back to my base later but we will keep it all in the same section. So for bronzer I use the Soap & Glory Solar Powder which is the perfect bronzer for us pale girls, I apply this around the edge of my face and on the cheeks to warm up my complexion rather than use it to contour, I’m not about that contour life haha. Blush, I apply to my cheeks (shockingly) I use this really old one which I’ve had for years which I should probably throw away but let’s face it I’m not going to lol. It’s the Max Factor Flawless Perfection Blusher in Classic Rose.
For the shadow I use Maybelline The Nudes I mix two colours together and apply them to my crease, I then get a dark brown colour and apply that to my upper lashline blending that out with a cotton bud then apply a tiny bit to the outer corner of the lower lashline (see below).
After, I add a super thin line as close to the lashline as possible using the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama gel liner, two coats of the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara and to finish I apply a Rimmel nude liner to my lower waterline.
First of all I map out the outline of my brows using the Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil and Brush and lightly fill them in. After, I brush down my hairs and use the Collection Eyebrow Kit and a thin angled brush to fill in the brow properly concentrating on the outer part of the brow and tail. I then brush the hairs back into place and brush them through with the L’Oreal Paris Perfection Brow Artist Plumper.
I mainly just use the Maybelline BabyLips in watermelon but sometimes I do dab a bit of this Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in cannes underneath.
Nothing too fancy It’s just a chance to see what products I like enough to use everyday.
P.S If you’re looking at that picture and thinking ‘bloody hell it doesn’t look like she’s even brushed her hair!’ then you’d be quite right.
